Christopher Lee is arguably the actor most represented in the action figure world. He can been seen in characters such as "Count Dooku", "Saruman" and "Scaramanga" The three being some of the most popular character ever created on the screen. The three have been carefully manufactured to not just look like the character but to extremely high standards of quality.
There are "talks" of a Dracula figure release. In fact, it was presented recently at a UK toy fair. Mr Lee has not authorised the use of his image or gratuitous association of his name with such plans. We are also not aware of Mr Lee signing any contact 30 years ago giving up his rights. "Plans" are one thing, the reality is another.
I'm sure toymakers would find interest for a series of Lugosi, Chaney(, and Karloff figures (if, indeed, there isn't one already, says the action-figure-ignorant).
There was something out a while back where one manufacturer was doing a series of classic horror figures...I seem to remember Claude Rains as the Invisible Man and one as the Phantom of the Opera...There was even a Norman Bates figure...weird.
Yeah, I've never seen an action figure that so strongly resembles an actor as my 12" Dooku figure!
That is a fantastic figure...but I think I almost like the Darth Tyranus Unleashed figure better...I have him standing on my monitor pointing his saber menacingly at the head of my little Chancellor Palpatine figure
Although I don't collect action figures, I highly admire the detail in some of them, some are quite outstanding, but you never know, it's never too late to collect. The only thing resembling these are the 'airfix' typr I had in the 70's, which are long gone.

I had one of these but can't find it.
Ah, action figures...
I used to collect Star Wars ones, but I don't have the money nor the room for them any more!
I have made sure to buy a Dooku figure, though... took me long enough to find him in the thousands of racks in Toys 'r' Us! He's got a nice pair of lightsabres, and a lil Sidious hologram. I really want the 'Tyranus Unleashed' figure if none of the others - though the 12" Dooku is also very tempting. It looks so much like Mr.Lee! The scanning technology is amazing!
I also have a couple of Saruman models - the Fellowship action figure, which isn't terrific, but good, and a 9" model, which is loads better, and made by 'Applause'. He's stood with my Gandalf and a 10" Sauron figure by my TV.
A Scaramanga would be a nice item to have in future.
my favorite topics action figures and Christopher Lee ...I agree with you 100% on the toy buzz with Mr. lee as an avid collector finally some great Christopher Lee merchndise is in stores and i cant be happier. I have many of the Sideshow figures that are made form the great Universal movies and each one has a copyright from the actors famillies. Ron Chaney Bela jnr. and Sara Karloff all have been fighting for years to make sure if a toy or any other merchandise was marketed with the likeness of the actors the families were involved. It brings up great legal questions with the Dracula figure. If its marketed as Dracula from Horror of Dracula and will use the actor who played hims likeness i would think he has to have legal rights .If Universal had to pay the families and get them involved legally in using the actors likeness what would be the diffferance with the proposed Dracula figure? I personally want it to happen but never thought it was possible with Mr. Lees feelings on that particular charactor. I look forward to seeing what happens in this situation. I would love a Dracula figure with Mr. Lees likeness and think many others would as well . If Hammer is already having a toy company start working on these figures without consent it seems to be a situation soon to make much headlines here at this site. Keep us posted Juan

Dracula one, didn't Mr. Lee always have a red lining in all of his Dracula's.

No. In the original 1958 film the cloak is all black. The red lining doesn't appear until DPOD. Likewise, he has a pearl tie pin for most of the series. It becomes a ruby in SCARS.

I remember the tie pin change, when you watch a film Alfonso, you watch it!!
But I do remember the tie pin coz it uesed to catch the light now and then.
I liked the red lining, it showed Mr. Lee off better, was it a Hammer thing, or was it down to Mr. Lee, the lining.

If I recall, Hammer originally wanted the character to be decked out in "Lugosi-esque" white tie and tails, with a medallion at his throat. Mr. Lee argued for a simple black suit, saying that having Dracula, in his castle in the wild mountain tops dressed like he was going to dinner at Maxime's was silly. The red lining to the cloak and the ruby stick-pin were later Hammer additions.
The Saruman action figure is quite nice, and looks very much like Christopher....there were two sizes on Amazon.com and I ordered the larger, about 10" tall. Came with its own palantir and stand. I only found the smaller Dooku figure, the one that flips in the air and lands on its feet (or on its head, depending on one's talent). Haven't seen Scaramanga yet out here. Wouldn't mind one of Dracula, long as they don't go stupid on us and put blood all over his face. Christopher in a black cape standing regally on a white marble staircase isn't bad;Christopher with fangs dripping and glow-in-the-dark face is not going on my shelf in my room...!!

No one wore suits like Lugosi, by the time Lee hit the sceens.
I like the new look Mr. Lee had, red is a very sexy colour.
I did read that Mr. Lee wore the ring that Lugosi, wore on set as Dracula.
And that he still has it, is that ture?

The Dooku action figure is indeed very good; it looks just like him. A former roommate gave me Dooku and Yoda action figures for Christmas...
Such a Dracula figure may wind up being based on Bela Lugosi instead, given Mr. Lee's feelings on the matter. I'm sure toymakers would find interest for a series of Lugosi, Chaney(
