Mr Lee is currently in Brussels as a member of the jury at the film festival.
Standing ovations are becoming a norm at whichever country he happens to visit and the European capital was no exception.
Go to TheOneRingNet for Guybrush Threepwood's report.
Yes, perhaps that's true, Juan. But how sad is that.
It's sad (and frustrating) to me because this man has been in the film industry for 50+ years and certain groups in that same industry are just NOW paying attention???
It's not like Mr Lee has not been contributing to the arts all along. It's not like he's a new actor who has to pay his dues.
I call it "The Pasta e Fagioli Syndrome." (Those of you who cook or like to eat will appreciate it the most.) That Italian dish of pasta and beans has been around forever, and has been enjoyed by Italian families for God knows how long. Suddenly, though, upscale restaurants decide to put it on their menu and charge $20. for it. Yuppies "discover" it (or act like they were the first ones to eat it) and now it becomes a status symbol.
This is what will happen or is happening with Mr Lee. Those of us here have enjoyed his work for years, and have listened to him with respect. Now, though, certain groups will believe they have suddenly "discovered" him and the rest will follow.
The good news is that he can use this to his advantage and promote such ignored works as JINNAH etc. The frustrating part is that he should have been paid attention to ALL along by EVERYONE in the industry.
That's the part we here are very much aware of, no?

Oh, you Italians and food! I love you guys. I mean it. But, then again, we're cousins (Italians and Hispanics). We're both Romans under the skin.

There you have it, Mr Lee is that confident of its release. I better rush on to finish the site or the movie might come out before I'm done.
Christina will be joining her parents tomorrow morning. Hopefully when I arrive from work, we'll have some news on the new developments. Sorry to keep you in the quiet but there are other people who are also prepared to push for its release, who want to remain nameless for now. After all, you didn't think I would waste my time working on a new site unless I was sure it would happen at some point.
Was it his involment in LOTR and SW that made the job much easier?
