It looks very Ralph Lauren. I especially like the second (profile) shot.

Please tell us that you're going to leave the rain and fog behind and move to New Mexico or Arizona!

Another guess: someone is publishing a book of portraits?

Those shots remind me of a western for some reason, must be the ascot/bandana. Didnt Mr. Lee mention that he regreted not doing more Westerns? Cheers.

That was my thought too, a very western look.
But it dose look very good on him.

Is this for the record he had said that he was going to record? Or for a movie he

Great look for Mr. Lee! Extraordinary for a man nearing 80 years of age.

As for their use or purpose...hmmm...perhaps CD cover or liner photos? Could Mr. Lee be in the process of preparing a CD of western music? or any music for that matter? Whatever the case, beautifully shot photographs with Mr. Lee looking his absolute best. Charm, class, and style...in other words...typical Christopher Lee!

Have I mentioned that the jacket is particularly striking? No? Well it is. Suits him to a 'T'!
Cheers!

Wow, I´m impressed. He looks so attractive.
First Impression, when I saw these photos, were, that it could be really made for a Westernmovie photoshooting....but as Charles said, it would be also a great CD-Cover for Country-Songs.

These Pics are expressing Freedom, Adventure and Coolness.....all I can say is , that this new Image is really fantastic.

Incredible, that he never lost in all these many years his breathtaking Charisma !!!!!

Well, my guess he's either making (or already made) a country cd.
And this is, I guess, the most correct answer.

Or otherwise he made a career change and turned into a photomodel for clothing advertisement. Laughing out loud
(highly unlikely)

Amazing photo!
I sure hope i'll look this good when i'm at that age,
Before Juan mentionned that "western" was the key word,
I thought that the look would maybe suit very well the filming of the life of some artist (writer , poet, painter etc...)
I thought the scarf and the jacket gave a kind of "excentric" modern (and retro at the same time) look!.

But , i'll join the others in guessing this may be the cover for a collection of recorded songs from mr. Lee , soon to be released.
We will know soon i guess!

Although it seems quite likely that these are CD cover photos, I wondered if it might be possible instead that they are promo stills of Mr. Lee appearing in Robert Rodriguez's ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO (a cameo perhaps).

WOW, I have seen Mr. Lee in many costumes, but I must say this will be one of my favorites. The western look is very becoming to him.

I'll definatley go along with western, but I'm not sure if its modren or old time western, because of the one thing I first noticed, the jumper, were crew neck jumpers around in the early days? hmm , Im not sure myself, as far as the country and western CD, very probable, but my guess is a western mini-series set in the early nineties, or, dare I say it? ...a remake of Hannie Caulder?
Anybody warm yet Juan?
Whatever it is, it's definately something to look forward to.Smile

I posted the photos for my office staff, and they all thought it was for the cover of a book...more memoirs, or perhaps a book of poetry or stories.

Me? I don't know...the photos are very thoughtful, and yes, the style is very Santa Fe..."Christopher Lee Sings With Willie Nelson"....hmmm...

I give up.

It has nothing to do with singing or music, only films. He has a new album coming up but the shoots are not from that.

They are recent and for something new.

I agree that I'm also thinking of a Western look to him and I must say that he's very charming , attractive , handsome and full of charisma too and it's a very good look to him too, I also think that it's a very nice GQ look to him too so my guess is maybe it's for the Highnoon cd of songs or I also think it could be a Western mini series that he's going to be in or maybe finally after all these years going to reprise his role of Bailey the English Gunsmith in a Hannie Caulder remake it would be odvious because he didn't get killed off in the first one like Robert Kulp did , but it's proabably going to be set 20 years later.
I can't guess anymore than that and I'm hope I'm right because I would like to see him in another Western film after all these years .Smile

Best regards

Juan, you devious devil! And we thought the Star Wars Ep II trailer was a 'teaser'? I'd say this has got it beat hands down for building up anticipation!

Hmmm...not music or singing huh? Straight film related? Probably not a remake or sequel to anything Mr. Lee has done before...I confess to being...absolutely...and without a doubt...stumped!

So far then, as far as guesses go, Cutshaw's comment about the possibility of Mr. Lee being in Robert Rodriguez' Once Upon a Time in Mexico is sounding closer in nature to the real answer...at least he's in the right ballpark. (By the way, right guess or wrong, thanks for mentioning that, as I wasn't aware that the film was being made...and I love Desperado, not to mention El Mariachi) . Unfortunately, if that is right, which I seriously doubt, then it truly is the best kept secret of all time!

C'mon Juan! We're dying here... Wink

I must admit in laughing my head off while posting this news and each time I read a response, can't keep keep a straight face. I am dying to tell you, but I can't until the 1st of December.

In the quote above there is another keyword.

Kinda makes ya think that the pic is a pub still from Star Wars 2 now doesn't it.

Well, Joe, anything is certainly possible, I suppose. Fits with either "foreseeable" or " future"...having seen the trailer for Star Wars, which is now "foreseeable" and definitely in the "future". The background could also just as easily be Tunisia or thereabouts...the scarf does have a North African desert sort of look...on the other hand, I'm not sure how it fits with Juan's previous hint of the keyword being "western".

Of course the photos could have been taken during Mr. Lee's recent trip to Greece...hmm...curiouser and curiouser...

December 1st suddenly seems a whole lot further off.

Cheers,

Now, that is bloody close. You can probably swim to the location from there. The jacket is made from elephant skin.

The Keyword "Western" does not necessarily mean just one thing. i.e. Western as opposed to Eastern.

Would have been nice but Count Dooku is too nasty to look that good.

I can't resist puzzles. Let's see...what else have we got to go on. Hmm...the photographer's name seems to be of Croatian, or at the very least former Yugoslavian, extraction. Not sure if that is relevant. Elephant-skin jacket...middle-Eastern type neck scarf...desert-like backdrop...Well, we are certainly based in the Mediterranean region. Turkey maybe? A film with archeology as the basis perhaps? Searching for something in the cradle of western civilization? A war flick? Navarone fifty years later? The North Africa campaign...nah...too modern a look. Aargh...hit a brick wall.

Will need to see what new clues turn up...

I'm as intrigued as Charles. I'll have to give this some serious thought. At this stage, the only thing that comes to mind is that Mr. Lee has a certain Ernest Hemingway look in the photos.

Mr. Lee has made no secret of his love of singing--and after a first glance--he looks like a film director scouting locations--I think indeed as some have pointed out that these are cover photos for a CD he is recording.

Of course, I'd love to see him in a new western, too!

Best,

John F

I don't know, and i'm probably wrong.
But it still goes through my mind over and over again for the last couple of minutes.

Does these pics have anything to do with the possible remake of The Wicker Man?

Uhh... that's a tough one. So the clues thus far: a FILM, a western or western related story which is set not far from the North African coastline.... Well my very vague guess is that Mr. Lee is playing an Englishman in times of British Imperialism... With a little imagination the African desert looks just like the Arizona countryside...

Given all the clues now, my first guess is wrong so how about the new Indiana Jones flick, is that still been made.
Or is it a dress rehearsal for the short film comp, mine is set in the WEST end, but I'm sure I never mentioned elephant hide.Laughing out loud

Ok...he's doing Allan Quatermain from "King Solomon's Mines"...big game hunter in Africa....oops, forgot the future clue...he uses a time machine?

Could swim from Tunisia...."Zorba the Greek"...add the future...you've got "Zardoz the Greek"....

He's a Sardegnian or Sicilian fortune teller?

Ok, I give up again...

So, we're talking films. Any chance this is a film adaptation of one of John LeCarre's novels? He of course writes about east vs. west in global geopolitical terms--and many of his plots are set world wide.

( I would think he's being featured in an upcoming issue of GQ! based on the style of the photos).

Best,

John
