Empire Online in conducting an interview over the phone with Mr. Lee, have made up a false statement on their headline and taken Mr. Lee's comments out of context. The original interview was given to Ian Nathan. In their news article, which uses the headline: "Lee prefers Lucas", they claim:
"It begs the question as to which director Lee preferred. 'They all have this quality of genius, it simply takes a different shape.' But pushed to pick one Lee admits that, 'the easiest one, the most laidback is George Lucas because he is very quiet and very easy to work with.'"
Mr. Lee said this morning, "This simply is not true. The headline used is totally inappropriate as I would never choose a director over another". He then confronted Empire Magazine's features editor, who confirmed that the comment "Lee Prefers Lucas" appeared on their website. They have agreed to remove this statement and confirmed that at no time did he make this comment. They also apologized to Mr. Lee for publishing false news on their website.
We are expecting the news article to be removed immediately and that a public apology goes in its place.
The rest of the interview can be read here (Since then, the headline has been changed and the statement removed)

Good to hear that it has been sorted. But jess the cheek of some people! They think they can get away with anything.
