The only one I have seen from the list is TTT, I don't bet like that, would know how too.
Think I have been in a betting shop twice, they was drity and very smokey places.
That was a very long time ago, things have change now, been told they are nice inside now.
You can bet on almost anything now.
I Wish TTT luck, but it don't look good.

I got fed up with the Oscars some time ago.
I don't watch TV much now, unless there is some thing on I want to see. Which isn't much. If there is a Christopher Lee film on that I don't have I will buy it.
I like to watch a film when I want to and not always when it is shown on TV.
I like to be in control of my viewing.

I agree on that totally. For Oscar winner, I'd like to see TTT win for sure. That would be great, and a departure from the norm.
I'm not into odds making, but I've seen some of the films that are up--- so I'll give my thumbnail reviews:
Chicago- A bawdy, sassy, dancing and singing great time.
Gangs of New York- A fun-for-the-whole-family blood-bath.
The Hours- If you want to be depressed and suicidal- this is for you!
The Pianist- No, it's not The Piano meets WWII, but it's a fine film.
The Two Towers- A feast for the eyes, the sense of adventure, and for Christopher Lee fans!
Gee, did I give my pick away by saving the best for last?:bounce:
Oscar is a fickle fellow, always giving away the big awards to arty-schmarty films instead of the really good stuff. I'd love to see "TTT" win, but I'm afraid it'll go to "Chicago" (at which point I'll get really gloomy and stalk off in a huff).
Besided "TTT," I was routing for "Road to Perdition," but we all know how much recognition that movie got.

I'm right with you on that one...I LOVED Road to Perdition but it disappeared soon after it arrived in theaters...what a shame to see it not get the recognition it deserved.

I have been given that DVD, and to be honest I haven even taken it out of the box, I think I will have to watch it now.
I do like Tom Hanks.

Not at all surprising that TTT is the longest shot. We've all spoken before about the Academy's prejudice against fantasy and sci-fi movies. Plus this installment is not quite as strong an entry as the first. Additionally, most people are expecting the third one ROTK, to be the "One to rule them all" per se, the most incredible of the three and thus one might hope the Academy is "saving" the Oscar for that one! (I know it's wishful thinking on my part but one can dream right?)
