Christopher Lee was informed by the director of the movie “Stone of Destiny”, that the marketing people and the distributors decided that the character that Mr. Lee plays, who begins to the tell the story of what happened around 50 years ago, is not necessary to the film.
Re: Stone of Destiny
NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First Sweeney, now Stone? What is going on? Both Robert Carlyle and Christopher Lee are my favorite actors and I was so happy that the two would be in the same film. But now this?! NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"the marketing people and the distributors decided..."
If that doesn't sum up what the main problem with Hollywood movies is, I don't know what does.
So the scriptwriter, the director and the producer have no say.
Well, it's to their loss, and the film will be the poorer for it.
Re: Stone of Destiny
That's really too bad. As Mr. Lee knows, this stuff happens literally all the time in the industry. It's a serious game of "Hurry up... and wait." coupled with many "Oh never mind "
Sigh. The worst part is that the talent is expected to be dependable when everyone else isn't.

This is a scandal that the director at least can't have anything to say about it. This happens in movies when it depends on money and not artistic quality. At least we have more of his projects to look forward to.
