Three new articles have just been published.
The first, is titled "From Book to Icon: Meeting Christopher Lee" by Matt Gemmell. He writes about his experience at a London Hammer convention and meeting Mr Lee in a very private encounter at the CLW base. The only other fan present was Colin Bushby who has already written about it. To read the article, go here
The second, is titled "This will be a day long remembered
I have tried all tha tips given to me but not one worked, I can get QT to work from other site, but not this.
Do you have a firewall? If you do, that will close your ports.
Have you set your QT player to 56K?
Apart from that, there isn't anything else I can tell you that would help.
I am on cable, it comes with its own fire wall, plus I have the latest norton 2003.
We have done that been there and got the T-shirt. LOL
I'm on the 600k cable, so it can't be the connection speed, I have the latest version of Qt .
I can't shut down the cable fire wall, but I did take off Zone Alarm.

Well, it looks like your firewall is the problem. Did you try different setiongs on your QT player? QT preferences - streaming transport. Try http port ID 80 or use RSTP 7070.
Because our server also has a firewall, we restict certain streaming ports and currently only 7070 is opened.
Hope this helps, if not I'll upload you a Real Media file. But on cable, you are better off getting QT streaming to work.
They're all terrific articles. It looks like Mr. Lee never has never forgotten his fans in all of these years and through many, many movies. There aren't too many actors like him. He's truly one of a kind to extend himself this way. It's amazing to me. What a fine man!
Matt it is good to read other people's views of the same event, you remembered somethings I forgot, or put them in the wrong order.
Reading it again brought back some great memories, thanx.
I know what you mean Colin . I wrote the article prior to seeing the svcd which contains a clip of the meeting . I could have sworn I gave Mr Lee the whiskey first but was obviously wrong . As you said , it was a day never to be forgotten even if the order of events get mixed in the old gray matter
Very kind of these ardent fans to post these detailed descriptions of their encounters. I really enjoyed reading them, partly because their enthusiasm comes through so clearly in their writing. As I read I tried to imagine how I'd react to hearing Mr. Lee's imposing voice within only a few meters of me and realized I'd probably start shaking like a leaf and not be able to say a word! So I am very impressed that these folks were able to chat with him at all. Lovely!
Richard,
Just read your article again and noticed how you seem so composed when asking Mr. Lee things, had you practiced before hand, or did it just come out naturally ? Is this the first time you have met him? What went through your mind the first time you saw Mr. Lee ?

All the new articles are great. Including the latest one by Old Soul.
I really enjoyed Old Souls article on the exhibition . I attended a Star Trek exhibit a few years ago in Edinburgh and loved it .
One thing amazes me though . In the article Old Soul states that " in real life Mr Lee is of average height , well average for the men where I live " Given that I've stood next to the great man and we're both easily 6ft 4 and more I was wondering what the men In your neck of the woods have been eating for breakfast Old Soul cause it's sure not the average for good old blighty

Thanks Colin. I've been a fan of Mr. Lee's for as long as I can remember. I suppose with the nature of my degree and the fact that I've worked in an environment where I've had to deal with fairly well known people, I've learnt to try and show an outward composure that I do not always feel within. Especially in the case of Mr Lee!!! I really did not plan anything beforehand - if I had let myself think about it, then I probably would have been more nervous.
Yes, it was the first time I have met him. When I first saw him I just felt excited that I would finally be able to thank him in person for the entertainment he has provided us all over the years! I know that may sound a bit over the top, but that's how I felt......
Cheers for asking!

They are great articles, looks like they all had a lovely time.
