I saw that! It was a brief but important moment. I was waiting for the cheers from the Kodak Theatre audience at his appearance on the screen there! It may have happened but was drowned out by the dialog and music.

When Mr. Lee appeared on screen at the showings of LOTR which I managed to attend, cheering and murmurs spontaneously errupted from among the crowd. Was that BrotherDave cheering you might ask? No it wasn't me cheering, I was too entranced to speak! My son and I had planned to cheer "Mr. Lee" when he appeared, yet we sat there frozen in awe!

There is no escaping the fact that as rabid as we fans who rarely miss a day visiting www.christopherleeweb.com are, there are thousands more true fans of Mr. Lee who don't! You can be sure that in that Kodak Theater crowd were literally hundreds of Christopher Lee fans and scores of others who have either worked with him or longed to do so.

It was truly a pleasure to see him on screen at the Oscar night show, even if it was all too brief! Even though his schedule did not allow it, I would also have liked to have seen him attending the ceremony along with McKellan, Woods, Astin and Jackson. But, it would have been far better still to have seen him at the podium with that heavy statuette in his hand! I'm very hopeful that next year that image will appear on my living room television!
