Anyone get this yet?
It arrived to me today, and I can tell you all it's A MUST-HAVE. Not only does it contain unrated, uncut, remastered, widescreen versions of The Bloody Judge, The Blood of Fu Manchu, The Castle of Fu Manchu and Circus of Fear, it also has TONS of awesome extras, including interviews with Mr. Lee, Jess Franco (FASCINATING!), deleted scenes, alternate scenes, trailers, photo galleries, etc.
This is a really top-notch package. HIGHLY recommended!!
Be warned.
As I have posted elsewhere, and others on other sites. CIRCUS OF FEAR has authoring problems - picture lockup/freezing. They are "reviewing" the situation......
Is this the one from Mr. Lee's new bow set?
Did you have any problems with this disk Dave?

Some people are having problems with CIRCUS OF FEAR, others aren't. I was able to watch it - just. It started to freeze during disc loading, but I let it continue, and eventually got the main menu up. I was then able to play, but several times during the film picture breakup/freezing continued. The trailers were not accessable at the menu owing to picture lockup/freezing.
Blue Underground are aware of this, and I am awaiting a further email from them.
It's basically an Edgar Wallace type crime thriller. Christopher Lee plays most of the fim with a black hood over his head, supposedly horribly scarred - towards the end of the film we discover he is not (in fact he is the unscarred twin brother).
Personally I prefer CIRCUS OF HORRORS and BESERK.
it's an ok movie GOP GAL i bought the VHS months ago buuuuuuut let me add my vhs is short it's missing like 10 or 15 min of footage so the one i saw i didn't really care for an wasn't dat good. but i am hoping dat da 80 or 90 min. version is better. mine is i think 67 or 68. min. long. i can' t remember how Long it ACTUALLY IS but dat's how long mine is!! how long is da one in da set??? i wonder??
Now I just went and bought Circus of Fear/Web of the Spider on ebay! I am getting pretty addicted, I had better slow down soon or I'll be flat broke. Oh well, in the end it will be worth it. I just can't resist buying Mr. Lee's movies and stuff. He's just too cool to pass up!
GOP Gal
I haven't watched the Circus of Fear disc yet. I'll pop it in in a few and let you guys know.
I've watched Blood of Fu Manchu and Bloody Judge so far, and they're gorgeous. I mean really, really gorgeous. I never would've dreamed these films could look so incredibly good.
But the coolest part of this set, for me, are the extras. The interviews with Mr. Lee, Harry Allan Towers and Jess Franco are worth the price alone.
I probably won't get my dvd until early next week, so you guys let me know how good it is. Of course even if it sux I will still watch just cause its a Christopher Lee movie!
I am going to watch Horror Express tonight though, I'll let you all know what I thought.
GOP Gal
hey Mark have ya EVER seen da CUT version of Circus Of Fear??? has anyone on dis site seen dat version but little ole me?? hehehe yea i have dat crummy version! an i am dying 2 also get dis NEW set i just haven't been out lately 2 get it!!
oh well i guess ya know? is JUAN gnna sell it on dis site i wonder???
I hope you are pleased with it Gop Gal.
Blue Underground of course offers it digitally remastered and is supposed to contain 8mins of newly found footage (where in the film this 8mins is I dont know). The visual quality is excellent (as are the other 3 titles in this set)
Well if the extreas are that good i will pick it up ive been wanting to but really, the Bloody Judge was the only seller point for me having all the Fu Manchus on VHS already. I dont know if you can call yourself a Christopher Lee fan and not by a DVD set called The Christopher Lee collection. :!:
Just GET IT, Fred.
You won't be disappointed.
Not only are the extras superb, the films themselves are like you've simply never seen them before. Widescreen, beautifully remastered from various vault elements, many believed lost, and restored to include footage never before seen in America. I've so far watched the two Fu Manchus and The Bloody Judge, and it's truly like seeing these films for the very first time.
I can't say enough for this set.
Okay, I've watched Circus of Fear, actually I'm watching it right now, it's about 80% done and not a single prob.
Obviously not all sets were affected.
I stand by my opinion -- this is one of the finest DVD sets to come along in quite some time. The transfers on all of these films are just magnificent.
If people are having problems with the Circus Of Death dvd, Blue Underground will replace these.

Just finished it...it's perfect.
Thanks for the info, Jacob, by the way.
This is the first time I've seen this film...it's GOOD! Mr. Lee gives an outstanding performance, as always! More of a mystery than a horror film, and very engaging!
Once again, the transfer is as crisp as can be.

you have no reason to be concerned. For those with defective discs kindly mail them to:
