Re: Christopher Lee Good Guy roles
My two favourite "good guy" roles for Mr Lee are as the Duc De Richleau in The Devil Rides Out and Alexander Saxton in Horror Express.
I also enjoyed his romantic turn as Sir Henry Baskerville and, even though the films themselves are average, his performances as Sherlock Holmes.
Re: Christopher Lee Good Guy roles
how many films was he the good guy in? he's the heavy in soo many films that i'm ALWYS surprised to find out that he's a good guy in a film. or in some cases he starts out good than turns bad. i've started watching "I,Monster" & he's a good guy at the start & i'm only like 20 minutes into it so bear with me.

I recently watched this film and enjoyed it very much. It is fascinating to see how the two characters diverged so completely as evidenced by changes in body language and voice rather than by huge amounts of make-up etc.
Re: Christopher Lee Good Guy roles
he also was a good guy in "The Puzzle of the red orchid" (1962) which i just watched tonite! & i actually quite enjoyed it! the only downside was it was in German but thankfully it was subtitled as i posted somewhere else here. he also lived to the end in that one as well!
Re: Christopher Lee Good Guy roles
He was a good, troubled father in "sweets to the sweet"from Amicus "The house that dripped blood",also in "Hound of the Baskervilles","The Gorgon" and "The devil rides out"he was with the forces of goodness instead of being the bad guy on town.
Re: Christopher Lee Good Guy roles
He played a good guy, relatively speaking, in the "Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll". Dracula was kind of a "good guy" in "Taste the Blood of Dracula" after knocking off those jerks including the one that was abusive to his wife and daughter!
I actually prefer CL in the villian roles....when he is so evil yet so attractive (i.e. Dracula, Rasputin, The whip and the body, A Tale of Two Cities, etc)

I also liked his good-guy roles, Daniel! In a perfect world, an actor would always get to show his flexibility by appearing as many different characters. Mr. Lee showed his flexibility, in the early days, by stunt work! Back injuries are just the worst, harder to deal with than a bum knee or elbow. He has my sympathies! I would like to see him in, perhaps, live theatre broadcast -- lot's of people could see the performance, and it wouldn't run for weeks & months & years ... you know what I mean. :)
