I really think such an honour is way overdue for Sir Christopher: any chance we can bombard the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with emails and letters?

Not a bad idea, though I would imagine there would be better luck by finding someone who is a member of the Academy and petitioning them specifically?
