As Mr. Lee told on Titchmarsh, he finished shooting in Hungary with Nicholas Cage in January/February. This is waht I found about the film: Nicolas Cage to reunite with Dominic Sena for Season of the Witch Wooonderful conecpt in my opinion. No informations yet on Mr. Lee´s role.
Re: Seacon of the Witch
oh this is sooooo great! just watched that interview yesterday on youtube and wondered what movie it was. this sounds like a really good one and of course, it couldn't be anything but good with mr. lee in it... the rest are good too... but hey, I'm a CL fan!
Re: Seacon of the Witch
This sounds very interesting. The first I knew about it, was hearing Mr Lee speaking of it on the clip of Alan Titchmarsh. I think Nicholas Cage is a fine actor, when he's given the chance.
I agree with you, Steve. Cage is a good actor; a lot of which is tied (as with a lot of actors) to the storyline and how good a character fit it is......
Should be interesting to see how this one goes.......
Cheers,
Helen
Re: Seacon of the Witch
Lionsgate has announced that it will release "Season of the Witch" in the US on March 19th 2010, only two weeks after "Alice in Wonderland". March 2010 will be a "Christopher Lee month" in the United States
Let's hope that in 2009 we'll have a couple more releases. I think it's very likely that "Triage" and "Glorious 39" will have a premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Both films are still expected to have a general release in the fall of 2009 in Europe and the US.
Re: Seacon of the Witch
Hey everyone! I may have found some information on Sir Christopher's role in this film. A poster on IMDB has claimed to have seen a preview screening of the film and gave us a few details on it:
"i went to a special screening of this movie and overall it wasnt that good it could have been much better but ron perlman and nicolas cage were descent in it"
"it felt like they just rushed into the movie without giving it time to introduce the characters for instance in the beginning of the film it shows ron perlman and nicolas cage getting shipwrecked near the castle and than about 5 minutes later they are captured by the kings guards for trespassing into the city and than the king who was affected by the plague tells them to take the girl to the monks so she can be given a fair trial"
The poster didn't seem to like the film at all, but someone asked him which role Sir Christopher played and he responded:
"in the movie he plays the king who gets infected by the plague he is only in the movie for 10 minutes"
I suppose we have to take this with a grain of salt, as the poster who wrote this has no solid proof, but I'd like to trust him. It sounds like a role Sir Christopher would play.
Re: Seacon of the Witch
The teaser trailer for "Season of the Witch" has been released. Don't get too excited: it's very short and doesn't really show what the movie is about. Not a very good trailer in my opinion. And there's no scene with Sir Christopher in it.
You can find it here:

And the official website (not much on it as of today):

Re: Seacon of the Witch
Wow. Thanks for the trailer! Looks scary! Kind of excited to see Sir Christopher in another SCARY horror film. It's been awhile (Sleepy Hollow, I think?)
Also, according to this article, it seems the poster on IMBD might have been mistaken about his occupation in the film...or just made up a lie.
As announced in this article, Sir Christopher's character in the film is named Cardinal D’Ambroise.
Season of the Witch trailer with Nicolas Cage doesn't look too shabby.
After the teaser trailer,

If I'm being honest, I don't
Thanks for the trailer Steve.

Here's a new picture from Season of the Witch that was released today. It shows Christopher Lee as the plagued king:

Re: Seacon of the Witch
Hey all!
So I have some good news and some bad news-
GOOD:
This movie finally seems to be finished! An official release has been set for January 7th, 2011. A final poster and trailer have been released too!
http://www.monstersandcritics.com/movies/news/article_1598431.php/Epic-fantasy-action-in-full-Season-of-the-Witch-trailer
However, this leads me to the bad news.........
BAD:
While Sir Christopher is billed on the new poster and he PHYSICALLY appears in the trailer, his lines definitely sound like he was dubbed by another actor! I am hoping he isn't dubbed in the film. I LOVE his voice and will be incredibly upset if someone else is performing his dialogue
That is another actor, yes? (Hope I'm not hearing things)
Re: Season of the Witch
wow, that isn't his voice. but in other trailers you can hear that is certainly Sir Christopher's wonderful voice. (even if he does look rather icky) the second trailer that I watched had the correct release date on it, so it makes me wonder just what the hell are they doing? His voice was so perfect in the second trailer compaired to the first one that you posted here, the dubbed voice sounded american and artificial. I'm with you, we definately want Sir Christopher's TOTAL performance in this movie.

Re: Season of the Witch
I hope it's only in the trailer. Maybe the studio wanted the lines in the trailer to be understood better and the original voice of the sick cardinal sounded distorted, which makes perfectly sense since the man's mouth is disfigured. They will make a big mistake if they leave the new voice in the film. Every film critic and most of the audience will notice it immediately.
I also noticed the "new" footage from the re-shoots which I think are all the bad looking battle scenes from the crusades. They are easily identified as Bluescreen scenes. Terrible, in my opinion.
To end on a positive note: when the project was first talked about, the original script was very well received. So despite the delays and reshoots, it may still be a good film.

Re: Seacon of the Witch
Great news! "Season of the Witch" already has a US distributor (LionsGate) and is reportedly scheduled for a release in the first quarter of 2010.
From all of Mr. Lee's recent projects this is the most "Hollywood"-like since "The Golden Compass" I'd say. Nicolas Cage is a very popular leading man in modern action cinema, so chances for a commercial success are very good.
I'm sure a full casting anouncement will be released soon. But if I am allowed to speculate: Mr. Lee could be playing a priest or monk, maybe someone who sends Cage's character on his mission.
