Sony has sent out a press release for the next project of legendary director Martin Scorsese, and Christopher Lee is included in the cast list.  We don't know the extent of his role, but working with Scorsese is an honor!  I'm sure that his performance will be as memorable as Max von Sydow in Shutter Island.

Re: Sir Christopher will star in Martin Scorsese's next ...

Great news! I'm not that surprised however.... Scorsese is known to be a admirer of the old Hammer films and Sir Christopher, he recorded a nice video message some years ago which was played at a film festival and praised Christopher Lee and his then new album "Revelation".

Everytime a new Scorsese film was announced, I hoped Sir Christopher would be part of it. After some movies that were stricktly american like "The Departed" and "Shutter Island"  he now has a film that takes place in Europe and will be filmed in Europe.  And here we are: Sir Christopher joins the cast! And Johnny Depp is apparently one of the producers.

Another guess I'd like to make: Guillermo del Toro has invited Sir Christopher to play in his movies "Blade 2" and "Hellboy 2", but he declined. Maybe in one of his new projects (like the "Frankenstein") we'll finally see a collaboration.

Looking forward to all new regarding "Hugo Cabret"!

Re: Sir Christopher will star in Martin Scorsese's next ...

Hello, everyone!  I am here with some speculation about Sir Christopher's role in Martin Scorsese's upcoming film, Hugo Cabret!  I have not read the book myself, which is apparently very good, but I have discussed the recent casting news with fans of the book on the movie's IMDB board.  According to one man, he suspects that Sir Christopher will portray the character of Monsieur Tabard, who matches his age, physical appearance, etc.  Tabard isn't simply a cameo, but the fan also said that he's not a major supporting role, either.  Think of Sir Christopher's appearance as Willy Wonka's father, and that's roughly the same amount of time he will have in Hugo Cabret, if not slightly more!

Will Sir Christopher be filming at Shepperton Studios or on location?

Very excited to see him work in the same film as Jude Law and in a Martin Scorsesse film. Scorcesse can really bring out the best in well established actors, like he did with Max von Sydow in Shutter Island and Martin Sheen in The Departed.

I am afraid I do not know, but two of the main child stars in the movie tweeted that they shot their first scenes with Sir Christopher last Friday and were very excited.  It's also been confirmed that Sir Christopher will portray the kind, elderly owner of the book shop in the train station that Hugo Cabret has made his home.  According to a fan of the book, Sir Christopher's character, Monsieur Labisse, is not a threatening man in any way and introduces Isabelle, the female lead, to a magical world that she calls "Neverland, Oz, and Treasure Island all wrapped up in one".

Asa Butterfield, who will be portraying Hugo Cabret, tweeted this:

First scene with @chloegmoretz and christopher lee tomorrow

So, apparently the trailer is going to be released with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". That really excites me!! I'll get double the fun when I go see it next week! I hope we get to see Sir Christopher in it! I'm really looking forward to this film. It sounds wonderful.
