Hello all you Christopher Frank Carandini Lee addicts!

This is may second time of trying to get a hello message through after joining yesterday. In fact if this fails again, I might be as old as the grand old man himself before I try again!

My first CL film I saw (from behind the sofa) was The Mummy when I was twelve.

I'm something of an anorak on British horrors and thrillers from c 1960 - 1980 and have several rare CL titles in my collection including:

Sherlock Holmes & Deadly Necklace
Diagnosis Murder
Scream & Scream Again

My favourites would include

The Devil Rides Out
Wicker Man
Doctor Terror's House of Horrors

I'm also a writer. My last (unpublished effort) was a failed detective story 'Christie and the Beast of Belgravia' featuring Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing haunted by a ghost!

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul, Welcome to the CLW! I hope you enjoy being a member here. Your 'unpublished' story sounds interesting.....I also have the films you mention - they are great! Hope to see more posts in the future.

Cheers, Wink
Helen

A very warm welcome to CLW, Paul! I hope you will enjoy your time here amongst fellow enthusiasts of Mr Lee and his work and I look forward to reading more posts from you in the future. Nice list of films, and I agree with Helen - the story does sound interesting. Wouldn't it be even more fitting if it were the ghost of one of the early Hollywood greats, such as Conrad Veidt or Lon Chaney? Or even dear Boris Karloff? I'm thinking a kind of fictional poetic justice of the sort that says "after all the scares you two have given people over the years, here's a taste of your own medicine!" Now there would be a curious case of "Life imitating Art". All safely situated in the realms of fiction, of course. Anyway, hope that wasn't too irreverent a thought. Take care and all the best:

Warmest regards,

Andrés

Hello Paul. Here's wishing you a very warm welcome to the site. Hope you enjoy your time here.

The Devil Rides Out is also one of my favourite films - a true classic.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I find myself scratching my head at this site though. The content is great and i'm itching to make my mark. I've posted 2 replies this evening, one on Season of the Witch and another on the Devil Rides Out on the general CL page. However although the messages seemed to have been acknowleged, where are they on the forum? Do they have to be vetted before being allowed on the page, cos they don't seem to be there.

yours exasperated

Hi Paul, Your posts are fine and showing up. The site is having a bit of a difficulty right now; after you post, you will need to use the browsers refresh button before you will see your post.
Our administrator (Juan) is aware of the difficulty. He is a very busy person, so it may take a bit of time; however he takes very good care of this website and of us (we are very fortunate, I think). If you have questions or difficulties you can always email Juan or ask a question in the 'Questions' Forum (See the thread with the posts about 'trouble posting'). Again, understand that Juan is extremely busy (this website is just one of the many, many things he takes care of) so it may take a bit of time for him to respond.

I hope this helps.

Cheers, Wink
Helen
