i've got a Quick Question, who does the voice for the bear? i don't know how to spell his name or else i'd look it up on the Inernet movie data base. my rents rented it tonight & my mom asked me whom it was? I said well i dunno. thanx in advance!
i forgot to add the LEAD bear. the hero of the film well one of the heroes.
never mind i found out who it was. Ian M. i'd spell his last name buut i don't want to spell it wrong. is there going to be a sequel though?
Hi Don. I just watched this recently on dvd and quite enjoyed it. I have been led to believe that their will be a sequel.
Hi Don, the person who voices the lead bear (Iorek Byrnison I believe?) is Sir Ian McKellen, a very famous actor here in Britain. He played the wizard Gandalf opposite Christopher Lee's Saruman in the Lord of the Rings films, as well as Magneto in the recent X-Men films and Leigh Teabing in The Da Vinci Code.
(I'm sure all of this is meaningless blabbering since you probably know all this by now, but just thought I'd add some background for you - sorry I couldn't answer your initial question in time!)
And yes, since The Golden Compass is based on a trilogy of books, I think they're gonna make another two movies.
The character that Christopher Lee plays in The Golden Compass appears a lot more in the next two books of the trilogy so lets hope that Christopher is in these films.
This is a good news, Stephen. I will glue my attention for new films of the expected trilogy.
Isabel Cristina Forlin Alves
thank you all for your help. & yes i do know who the gentlemen who did the voice is. he's one of my favorite actors buut for some weird reason since he did a voice in a film, something he doesn't normally do i couldn't remember what his name was? neither could my rents. hehe soo it's NOT just me.  anywys he's got that deep voice like Mr. Lee don't you think? & i hope they are in some form working on the Next sequel cause mr. lee unfortunally isn't getting younger. too bad ain't it?
