Mr. Lee was unable to perform at the Barbican last week due to illness. Is Mr. Lee feeling any better? Shock I know everyone is concerned that he makes a full recovery from his illness. Sending my hope and wish that he is feeling better. Smile

Kindest Regards,

Re: Is Mr. Lee feeling better?

Hello everyone,

I am still away from home, but trying to keep up with current messages as best as I can.

Though I have already done so on a previous thread, I would just like to reiterate my sincerest best wishes to Mr Lee, hoping that he makes a full and speedy recovery from his illness. I pray that he will be fit and well to return to that art which keeps him as active as ever - "Dreaming to order," as the late and great Sir Ralph Richardson once said of acting. I know that Mr Lee has many more dreams with which to enchant the public, whether it be in music, in film, in television, or who knows where next... that is the marvellous thing about Mr Lee - he always seems to be able to come up with something new for the audience, which, in a career as far-reaching as his, is no mean feat.

May God continue to bless Mr Lee, now and always:

With warmest regards and best wishes,

Andrés ("poeraven") Smile

Yes,would somebody "give us an update?" I was just reading my copy of Christopher's autobiography(I have "Tall, Dark&Gruesome") and I was wondering something-----I was a "brief member" of the old "Christopher Lee International Club",did Christopher's health have something to do with why the "CLIC" was "disbanded?" Just curious. My mom had to pay my membership fee to the CLIC-----I didn't have a job or a checkbook-----I was in High school at the time. (First Colonial High School--Class of '81).

Re: Is Mr. Lee feeling better?

Hi, Milkbone...I was also a member of the CLIC. I wonder just how many of us here were?

I doubt Mr. Lee's health was an issue to any degree back in the days of the CLIC. I'd assume it disbanded due to financial matters.

I also hope that Mr Lee has recovered from his illness and is now well again. As I already said in the "Concert at the Barbican" thread, I wish him all the best (I always do, of course), and good health is on top of the list.

*joins the line of people waiting for an update*

I asked Juan about this and was assured that Mr. Lee is fine. He had a common cold, apparently, nothing more.

Re: Is Mr. Lee feeling better?

Hello everyone,

Thank you for the information, Dave. It has finally put my mind at rest as to Mr Lee's health. There must have been something nasty going around at that time, because I too had been just shaking off the final remnants of a cold a day or so before the concert.

Many thanks once more for that, Dave:

Warmest regards to all,

poeraven Smile

Re: Is Mr. Lee feeling better?

Thanks for the info Dave about Mr. Lee.

Even though it was just a common cold, let's not forget that Mr. Lee is in his 80's and even a common cold can pack quite a punch. I hope he takes it easy for a little while, I want him around for a long time.

I know this reflects all of our sentiments. Mr. Lee is among the last of a truly great breed, and we want him with us for a very long time to come indeed.

Amen to that,Dave! We want to have Mr. Lee around for a Long, long, time. I know what Mr.Lee has been through,as I'm battling a cold or something like it myself right now------and It does not help when your jobs involve dealing with kids. I'm sneezing, coughing, stuffed up,and generally feel like @%$^(I sure everyone gets the drift). He needs to get plenty of rest and chicken soup!!!!!!!

First, obviously I'm glad Christopher is feeling better! Colds...bah, humbug...nasty things. Sad Lotsa chicken soup and don't talk; pretend the script has bad dialogue and just gesture a lot. Christopher learned to do that long ago in one Hammer film I can remember...Laughing out loud !

Second, the papyrus version of the CLIC disbanded around 1985 at Christopher's request, not because of his health, but for other reasons, including the fact he was moving back to England. I had given over the club in 1981 to two friends of mine; I was told, ahem, by Christopher that I shouldn't run the club anymore since I had a husband now to devote my time to instead. As Rygel would say on "Farscape": "Yotz". I was really disappointed, but Christopher's always right on these things. In 20-20 hindsight I'm really hitting myself over the head with a two-by-four that I didn't just keep running the club and not get married instead. (Heheheh, I'm so bad.)

Re: Is Mr. Lee feeling better?

Hey Pam, Thanks for clearing that up for me. BTW are you still"hitched"(married---no offense,I hope)? I hope that Christopher and his family NEVER HAVE TO go through anything, like that "mess down in FLA." Personally, in my opinion----if the woman, down in Fla. has been that way for over 15 years, then her brain is "basically already gone"----they should "let her go,so she can be at peace." I'm SO GLAD that my grandparents had "DNR (Do Not Resiscutate) Orders" posted,so they could die in peace. One of my grandfathers had "alzhimers (may be spelled wrong)diease". It took him 12 years to die. He went from being a man,who had his own successful business---to one who,had to be tied in a wheelchair,so he would not fall out--could not,in the end, walk, talk, feed himself, had to be restrained in his hospital bed,as he would fall out of it. In the end, a simple infection took his life.

Thank you! I'll look at my diaries again and see what I can come up with, but in the meantime, I'm glad you like the articles I did back in 2000. Helps to have an interesting subject to talk about, yes? Laughing out loud

Ah, Milkbone, nope, was married 11 years; not married now. Single and enjoying my freedom, although I still have a great friendship with my ex-husband. I envy my Mom/Dad and Christopher/Gitte finding such great love and partnership with each other...it's a treasure. Smile

It's pouring cats, dogs, donuts, marshmallows, socks, you name it, here in California. We finally broke our own record for the most rain in a year, and for us, as we are SUPPOSED to be a desert, that's remarkable. My Mom has lilacs blooming in her backyard the size of mangos and they don't usually come out until May, and everyone at my office has allergies and sound like very large sneezing June bugs. (Actually, my boss looks like a large sneezing June bug, but we won't go there...)

Everyone stay warm and healthy!
