Hello everyone,
I came across this some time ago, but kept forgetting to write about it here. According to IMDb.com, Mr and Mrs Lee have a grandson called Iain Lee. Here is the link to the page which records this: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0497420/bio
On the biography page for Iain Lee, under "trivia," it states that he is "Grandson of actor Christopher Lee and Gitte Lee." Surely this must be a mistake! I thought Mr Lee has only one child, Christina. As far as I know, Juan and Christina have not had any children, so how can Mr Lee have a grandson? Perhaps someone will be able to shed some light on this oddity for us:
Warmest regards,
Andrés

Hello everyone,

As I was happy when I began to read that!
As I said, little I know about the couple's life Lee and I had opportunity to read just some pages of the biography (the book is in English), then I was not right on Christina to have or not to have children. Christina is one year and 5 months younger than me, then she could have children of my daughters' age.
But do I think everything was explained, the boy is not grandson of the couple Lee, then?

Andres, We know how unreliable the IMDB can be.....I did some checking around...The closest information relating Iain Lee (Who is of Scottish decent, and was born in Scotland), and Mr. Lee together, is that Iain Lee was used as a 'double' for Mr. Lee in Jinnah.....Here is a link to the blurb from Iain Lee's own website.....He refer's to Mr. Lee as "Big Chris".......
after you get to the link, go to the 6th question down the list.....There is a pic of the cover from Jinnah......

Hello everyone,
Very interesting indeed, Helen! I had no idea that Iain Lee and Mr Lee had actually worked together, and on Jinnah as well! Fascinating stuff! The things one learns... Thank you for researching into it for me, Helen. I guess if not his actual grandson, perhaps an "honorary grandson"?
Warmest regards,
Andrés
Re: Mr Lee has a grandson, Iain Lee?
Could be that the Iaian (sp?) is someone that Mr. Lee is so fond of he considers him his grandson?
:dontknow:
Re: Mr Lee has a grandson, Iain Lee?
The IMDB is notorious for putting out erroneous information. Many of us in the past have been misled by items they have listed (and eventually retracted).
I would be willing to bet that someone just assumed that because Iain (and that is how he spells his name, the Scottish version) had a last name of 'Lee' he was related. There are many people (actors, doctors, teachers, teenagers, etc) that have the name Christopher Lee in some form or other, be it first or middle or last names.....I think this subject is moot at this point.
Cheers,
Helen

Hello everyone,
Indeed, Helen! That was my thought as well! There's no excuse for not doing one's homework. I mean how difficult can it be for them to check whether or not Mr Lee and Iain Lee are actually related or not before writing it on their site? The worst thing about it is that they actually pay people for writing such inaccurate biographies.
The IMDb isn't alone in making these kinds of gross errors. I remember my mother reading out to me ages ago a hilarious example from a Spanish magazine. It must have been around 1998, because the article was on Sheryl Lee and her role in the film "Vampires." If you haven't already guessed it, the reviewer raved on about how Sheryl Lee was Christopher Lee's daughter and that she was following in her father's footsteps a) by becoming an actress, and b) by starring in horror films. It went on to say how proud Mr Lee must be of his daughter. I knew of course that Mr Lee had a daughter, but I also knew his daughter was NOT Sheryl Lee. I mean, honestly, it beggars belief that these people are actually able to earn a living by writing up false information about other people. Haven't they heard of research? Before you know it, they will be claiming Mr Lee was related to Bruce Lee as well.
Warmest regards,
Andrés
Re: Mr Lee has a grandson, Iain Lee?
Hello everyone,
A very sweet and revealing quote attributed to Mr Lee on the subject of the possibility of becoming a grandfather:
"I'm too old. I don't know how long I'm going to live, well none of us does, but I don't know. Our daughter might have a baby and I might die next year.
"But being a grandfather would be another privilege and another award." (from http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/news/tm_objectid=17233531%26method=full%26siteid=66633-name_page.html.)
I hope that this is something that could come true for Mr Lee. He would surely be overjoyed to be a grandfather!
Warmest regards,
Andrés

It would be wicked if Mr. Lee became Big Grampa but the idea he'll die certainly makes me feel hollow:dong:
