Signing event

I know this is a regular question asked but no-one seems to know when Mr Lee will be next appearing for a signings session. I have just signed up today as I only check the site periodically and always seem to read that I've just missed a chance to meet him.
I'm concerned that he's getting old and will retire from meeting his fans soon. I collect Bond autographs but only if I have the chance to meet and chat with them. My collection would certainly be missing something if I didn't have Francisco Scaramanga!
Please can someone give me some warning as to when I can next meet and obtain his autograph.

Re: Signing event

I can understand how important it is to you to actually meet Mr Lee but , if that opportunity does not arise , you can always get an " authentic " autograph right here at the store . It's the only way , other then in person , that you can be sure it's the real thing .

Re: Signing event

Thanks for your suggestion however the autograph is really for the reminder that I have met them in person not for the want of collecting autographs. Do you know when a possible event may be taking place that I can attend where he will sign Bond photos?

Re: Signing event

I feel the same about autographs but I'm afraid I've no idea if Mr Lee will be doing any more signings .

Re: Signing event

I agree entirely that an autograph, even authentic beyond doubt, is not at all the same if you do not obtain it personally from your hero. These days I almost always take my little digital camera to signing events and to be honest I much prefer a photographic memory than a signature. Usually this is possible...and I am lucky enough to have pictures of myself and my son with Mr Lee. Taken when we attended the Forbidden Planet signing in London on September 27 last year.
It was not terribly well advertised and held at a time of day that most people found impossible to attend but even if you had made it, with your chosen cherished item in hand, I am afraid he would not have signed it for you. He was very specific about only signing his new dvd or Rhapsody cd. Can't blame him of course. After all, that's what he was promoting and, as we agree, it's the experience of meeting the man that matters the most.

Hi Matt G,

Just wanted to say that I really like that picture of Mr Lee and you together. You both came out fabulously. Can I ask where it was taken? (I'm curious - it looks fairly recent to me. Could it possibly be at the "Jinnah" Signing in Liverpool?) I hope you will please let me know if my guess is correct. Many thanks:

Sincerely,

poeraven Smile

Right first time . The pic was taken just after the event when Juan , very kindly , allowed my son and I to remain for a private moment with the great man.
Can you guess this one ?

Can I guess?
That was a day and a half, wasn't it Matt.
Walking down the streets of London early on and not a sole in sight, until we reached the venue, then every other person was Police.

...and to quote Janice, "Nice skirt Matt"

Cheers
Colin.

Re: Signing event

Wow, Matt,

Another fantastic picture!! The Making of a Legend (DVD, Vol 1), if I am not mistaken. I hope that Mr Lee will be doing more signings in the future (Rhapsody, Don Quijote, Star Wars, The Making of a Legend... *hint hint Juan*) so that I can have another opportunity to get my picture taken with him. I have the ones from the Heathrow event, which are very good, but I'd really love to have one of Mr Lee and me standing side-by-side. That would truly be a photo to treasure!

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for plenty more signings to come in 2005. Until then, I continue to wish Mr Lee (and Juan) every success with all future projects. Good luck and God bless:

Best wishes,

poeraven Smile

Re: Signing event

If this works there should be a picture of my 11yr old son sitting on the counter with Luca, Mr Lee, Fabio and Alex behind him, which I took after we had our CD's signed. Something he can show his children one day Laughing out loud

If it does not work, it's also on the front page of his website:

Re: Signing event

That is a beautiful picture, Lorritom! I am sure your son will look back on that photo with fond memories.

Wish I'd had the presence of mind to have asked for a photo of me with Mr Lee for that Forbidden Planet signing, but I think that the anticipation of meeting the great gentleman himself for the first time, together with making sure I squeezed-in the Wicker Man question my friend wanted me to ask (which I managed to do without ending up tongue tied) meant that my thoughts were not focused on that. My mother did get a couple of good photos of Mr Lee on his own, and I got a nice one of Rhapsody, so I have some lovely mementos of the day (in addition to my signed copies of Jinnah DVD and Dark Secret CD album).

Hopefully there will be another signing soon: Wink

Kindest regards,

poeraven Smile

Yes, as well as being a Rhapsody fan Tom is a real Lord of The Rings addict so coming 'face to face with Saruman' was something he will never forget...and Christopher Lee seemed genuinely pleased to have a chat with his awestruck little fan Laughing out loud
