The morning showing was packed. (I can only imagine the midnight ones.) I was really hoping to see some poor souls dressed up like hobbits but, alas, I was denied.
To kill that hour we had to wait (in the theater, at least) we discussed the differences between geeks and dorks. A good time was had.
I took my son and his friend to the second showing at the theater closest to my home. It was 3:45 in the afternoon. There were about fifteen people there at the most. I was amazed! I had a perfect seat right where I wanted, about tenth row back smack in the center. The two eleven year olds took their usual place for a LOTR screening, front row center. This is not a huge threater, but I felt like I had the place to myself.
Alfonso is right...again. Thank God for matinees....and movies in general.
i'm gonna go see it either tomm night or monday sometime during the day depending on if we can get in. i bought the extended version set this past monday an i want to use that ticket that was in it. that's what put there for right? i'm all excited to go see it too.
Nah... not anymore. The street sweepers were complaining. Do you know how difficult it is to get blood off paving stones? The dicarded bottles of Irn Bru and whiskey are bad enough...
Way back when, we found a can of Irn Bru poured over the bloodstains took them right off. ("Made from girders, and dissolves blood in a flash".) A quick hosedown the next morning, and you're good to go. But the old traditions are dying out - it's sad, really. There was a day when Hogmanay meant something, and you had the heads to prove it...
Only in darkest Scotland...and even then mainly just at Hogmany celebrations.

Heck, I am a type A personality. I hate to stand in lines.
Some night soon I will stop by and see it.
I am sure it will be like any film Mr. Lee has worked in. Great!
I've just started my new job at Inland Revenue (I'm now a "Servant of the Crown" which sounds very nice and archaic, even though it's a pretty normal Admin job...). I'm getting a sub from my monthly pay on Dec 13 so I'll be getting the tickets then.
Can't wait. Ents! More Saruman! Gandalf finally brushes his hair! Helm's Deep! Gollum! CAN'T WAIT!! :bounce: :bounce:
I'm gonna see it at the premiere, in Salzburg... there was also this premiere before the premiere, which would be on the 17th starting at midnight, but as I'm gonna be skiing that week my mom has to drive me there and she says she won't pick me up at 3 in the morning so... yeah =/
Next year, I'll be sure to see the third part the first date possible... hm, I still feel like such a bad fan
While I wish I could see it the second it comes out I realisticall know it shall not be since I need a babysitter for a ludicrous hour of the night and the chances are my viewing buddy (my mom who got me into LOTR) would never go to a midnight showing. So I will settle for a few days later. And then I'll see it again I'm sure a week or so after that...and maybe one more time even!
I voted 1 premiere.
Well thats is how I would like to see it ,but there will too many there for me, so I will wait till the next week.
not a lot of room in the cinema now, need leg room, can't sit in middle have to sit on end of row,put my legs out.
Both parts back to back? Oh, that is excellent. I've got my opening night tickets planned, but may either see a sneak preview or most likely get paid to see it, like FELLOWSHIP last year .
Quick note: Broke down and rented out TTT game for the Playstation 2 game console. Whew, what an exhausting game. Massive fighting involved. Great game play, and very good looking, but I was actually tired after fighting what seemed to be an endless amount of orcs in Moria. Fun, fun stuff though:D .
I will be seeing the Two Towers on Tuesday 17th at 5 to midnight.
For some obscure reason, the nature of which escapes me, I queued for 19 hours in freezing temperatures to get a ticket for an english speaking cinema in Munich, Germany.
It will be nice to see all the people that I keep meeting every year when I queue for the tickets for the premiere.
It is reassuring that that there are others who seem to be one or two sandwiches short of a picnic.
It'll be a family affair with my wife and both children accompanying me to the UGC in Glasgow . Everyone loved the first film and we're all eager to see the second instalment .
I will probably try and watch it at a local premier, if not DEFINITELY in the first week. I'm trying to get a group together from work so we can allo go and see it together at the IMAX in Manchester.
I can't wait!!! (I can feel one of my crazy hysterical moods coming on now!) :1roll:
One of my school friends has bought us tickets for the first day it's out as a Christmas present for me! I can't wait! When we email each other now, we put a countdown on the end of our messages!
I got that free CD-ROM with 'The Mail on Sunday' today, and saw the full trailer for the first time! I just sat back and gaped, gasping 'Wow!' It's gonna be so good!!
That little featurette that looked at the Forces of Evil was good, looking briefly over Sauron, but more importantly at Saruman! A bit of Mr.Lee interviews in there! Oh yeah, and a lil about that 'Wormtongue' fella too, but hey...
Oscar, you can come with us if you want. I have several complimentary tickets. It's not a big deal, this is only LOTR and not SW. They'll be no popcorn fights, no standing up and cheering, no teasing Mr Lee, nothing. We are just going to sit down for three hours and watch a film, come out and hear everyone say it was very good.
I'll definatly be seeing it in the first week, I like the queues to go down abit first, although I know they might not for some time, it's just I'm not a queueing type of person, and the thought of queueing for ages then finding the theatre is full up when you get close to the doors is disheartening to say the least. Not to mention it's the middle of winter, and it's getting colder, I know, I'm a big softie.
I'm unsure yet. I may be able to see it a local premiere. I already have my free ticket to it that came with extended FOTR dvd set,so latest is opening day.
I shall be seeing it all over the place, it seems. Down where I live, 700 miles north where my son currently resides, and then 2000 miles out west with my friends after I've relocated the first week of Jan.

Aye, we can't even have a wicker man, 'cause it's a fire hazard...

I will be going the first week. I took my cousin the last time over his vacation. I will be taking him this time as well!
Only in darkest Scotland... and even then, mainly just at Hogmanay celebrations.
Same here. Thank god for matinees, midnight shows, and vid-e-os.
It does. Very Henry VIII, "Man for All Seasons" sounding. There's no risk of getting your head chopped off, anymore, right?

Bought my tickets (mine and nine fellow fans) the day they went on sale online for Dec. 19!

I have uploaded the tickets from The London Gala Premiere, on the 11th, so you can see what they look like.

At least three times a week, if not more.
I saw some clips on TV today, I can't wait.

Several of us at work asked off for the first day back in May (shows what complete geeks we are). We may see a midnight show on the 17th.

I will wait two weeks or later to see it because I don't like to watch a movie when the theater is too crowded.

Two weeks on Wednesday! Yes!!
It may only be LOTR Juan, but I think we're all a little bit envious that you're going to the premiere.
The first showing will be at midnight, seeing that there is work the next day, I won
You're such a show off. :crying:

Of course, that's my hope. But RL might have other plans for me...

The things one does for Tolkien and Lee........
You're such a show off. :crying:
Hahahahaha. Juan, you've been "outted.":D
At a premiere = 1 vote.
You're such a show off. :crying:
