Premium Areas (A merge)

I'll try and not drive you too crazy and confuse you. The premium areas of the site are going to be closed and replaced with InterActual. You will still have access through the DVD and if you don't, you can e-mail me and I can give you access without the DVD.

I am doing this because I dont have enough spare time, as I will be travelling backwards and forwards almost continuosly for the next 4-5 months and I think it is much better to concentrate in InterActual as it has more to give that this can.

I'll soon tell you what you will all be getting for Christmas this year. Thanks to the DVD sales which have gone much better than we have expected, you will be getting a few cool free goodies with Volume II.

Volume I was released as a fan only version and not commercially. However, Volume II will be the first commercial version and will be going through quality controls and benchmarks before its release, making it a fully professional production. We thought that this would not come before the series was completed but thanks to the suscess of Volume I it has come right away.

Volume I will be produced again in the new year but you will get that copy free with Volume III so that you don't miss out on any new updated versions.

Volume II as I explained will come with a goodie bag but we need some help on ideas for the casing in which eventually all your collection will go in and which will be having a signed plaque on the outside (lightaber style only cooler). The goodies and the casing will just be exclusive to this site and not to other retailers. That will be your last big present from us.

So anyone with any ideas about a cool casing, fire away. Show me any examples you may have seen that we may take ideas from but we want to make it specially so they'll be no exact copy cats. I've seen them in metal, wood, glass. I've even seen one with neon lights inside.

Here is a suggestion from the publishers, obviously money is always an issue but we will try to make an economical effort here and see what we can come out with. That is providing Mr Lee agrees but he normally is cool.

"What about the case being a metal box - silver-colour or gold, maybe - with a hologram image like you get on some credit cards. When you look from one direction the image would be Count Dooku with his light-sabre, and in the other direction it could be Saruman.

We will keep trying to think of something truly original which is still possible to achieve without costing an arm and a leg!"

I was just going to suggest a metal box, one of the best looking DVDs I've ever seen is the (now deleted) Hellraiser/Hellraiser 2 set, see the link below for a photo:

Also, if you look at the DVD of Gladiator, here, you'll see that Ridley Scott's signature is reproduced as part of the design, I really like that, so maybe that's something that could be included.

Thanks Trevor,

I was refering to a sort of huge box that will fit not just the DVD but all the free goodies. Something like this big:

If it is too big, no problem you can also fit DVDs that you already have.

Oh yes, very nice.

If I can think of anything else that might help, I'll post it here.

You see, the first was red and black on a black amaray case, Volume II will be light blue with a colur picture and a blue amaray. The next probably organge and so on. Then all these, get put inside the box as you collect them.

So let's say for instance that Mr Lee's hand gets soar from signing more metal plaques than he can cope with, these can bee sent to you later and you can then glue it on. I remember those fiddly lighsaber plaques, you'll get tired just having to move the around.

This way, instead of playing with the invidudual cases, we play big time with the main one.

I tried my hand at the DVD case rather than the box, I misunderstood you at first. This was the cover, and inside.

That looks cool Colin:) but yes its got to be large, the'll be a t-shirt, a very large poster and two musical CDs inside beside the DVD.

This sounds like a great idea and the price is right to Premium Members...

I like the idea of the hologram. I was thinking something like a lenticular image that has 2 or 3 images of Mr. Lee from various films and as you tilt the image another image appears, sort of along the lines of a hologram.

What if the case had a sound chip or illuminated when you opened it up? Work with me now, I know some of these ideas are cost issues but would be cool.

Since Mr. Lee holds a record or something (Beavis and Butt-head laugh sound inserted here) :dunce: for most films by any actor, a case that looks like the outside of a great movie house with all the detail and marquee would look very interesting. Images on the side could have photos of Mr. Lee's roles like the 1 sheets promoting various movies. When you open it up, there could be a movie screen at the back. The light could show the screen much like in the darkened theater.

On a more inexpensive note, what if it looked like the lighted marquee outside the theater or like a movie camera shape?

Just some thoughts.

Hello Juan,

What about a a box made of wood or metal that has the following design items- a wood box with laser etched (somewhat inexpensive), or a metal case with multi-level embossing if Mr. Lee's image, of just his name & collection title?

Picture a custom box of wood or metal that has an image of Mr. Lee on the front that is etched/tipped in, or if you want to wow 'em, translucent, that lights up when a button is pressed?

Slots could be made to hold the DVDs and additional items included.

This could be very cool and not real expensive if members like me could help produce final art.

Just a thought.
